The role of RAS effectors in BCR/ABL induced chronic myelogenous leukemia

Jessica Fredericks, Ruibao Ren

Frontiers of Medicine 2013, Volume 7, Issue 4,   Pages 452-461 doi: 10.1007/s11684-013-0304-0

Abstract:

BCR/ABL is the causative agent of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).Tyrosine177 of BCR is a Grb2 binding site required for BCR/ABL-induced CML in mice.NRAS (NRASG12D) to a vector containing a BCR/ABLY177F mutant “rescues” the CMLwell-characterized RAS effector loop mutants and determine that the RAL pathway is important for rapid induction of CMLfrom the present study support the notion of RAL inhibition as a potential therapy for BCR/ABL-induced CML

Frontiers of Medicine 2015, Volume 9, Issue 3,   Pages 304-311 doi: 10.1007/s11684-015-0400-4

Abstract:

In the tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) era, imatinib is the first-line therapy for patients with chronicmyeloid leukemia (CML) in chronic or accelerated phase. This study retrospectively analyzed the efficacy of TKI2 and HSCT for treatment of CMLNinety-three patients with CML registered in the Chinese CML alliance database from February 2001 toresults indicated that allo-HSCT may be superior to nilotinib and dasatinib for adult patients with CML

Frontiers of Medicine 2019, Volume 13, Issue 3,   Pages 344-353 doi: 10.1007/s11684-018-0639-7

Abstract: Dasatinib is a highly effective second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat chronic myeloidleukemia (CML).This report from the 4-year follow-up revealed that 73% of 59 patients in chronic phase (CML-CP) and32% of 25 patients in accelerated phase (CML-AP) remained under treatment. The initial dosage of dasatinib for CML-CP and CML-AP patients were 100 mg once daily and 70 mg twice

Frontiers of Medicine 2012, Volume 6, Issue 2,   Pages 204-211 doi: 10.1007/s11684-012-0202-x

Abstract:

We evaluated the outcomes of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients in three clinical phases, namely, chronic (CP), accelerated (AP), and blast (BP) phases, receiving imatinib treatment. The single-institution treatment experiences of Chinese patients with CML were presented.A total of 275 CML patients (CP, 210; AP, 24; and BP, 41) who received imatinib between February 2001

Arsenic in the treatment of newly diagnosed acute promyelocytic leukemia: current status and future research

Jiong HU

Frontiers of Medicine 2011, Volume 5, Issue 1,   Pages 45-52 doi: 10.1007/s11684-011-0117-y

Abstract:

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a subtype of acute myeloid leukemia.directly degrades the PML-RARα fusion transcript, leading to the differentiation and apoptosis of leukemiacells and the potential eradication of APL leukemia-initiating cells (LICs), thus making the diseasea potentially curable type of leukemia.
